Napoleon IIIrd

Another great gig on Saturday. It feels like we're getting better and better but let's not get too confident just yet.

Have to say that this man, Napoleon IIIrd, is stunning. Please have a listen on www.myspace.com/boney3.

He's one man who's got a reel-to-reel with a personality complex. Lots of crazy noises (lazer guns, dog toys, brass sections), put together to make unbelieveable creative and genuinly brilliant (if not slightly off-the-wall) pop songs.

Buy his new album when it comes out in a couple of weeks. He's playing the Brudenell while we're at ATP (27th April) with his full band.

Web 2.0

The internet is ace. Yesterday we were added to a new music podcast called Darkhorse Radio - www.darkhorseradio.com.

Our tune 'Oblige' was featured in edition 53. Alan, the chap that produces the podcast from his home in Chesire, found us through MySpace. And now we're telling you about it on a blog.

So, thanks to the wonder of the internet, lots of people who'd have never heard us can now, well, hear us. As we said, ace.

By the way, the Stateless show was probably our best gig yet. If we find someone who took some photos we'll post them up here.

WE HAVE BATTLES IN OUR LIFE

We've been listening to a lot of Battles recently. They're a mad avant-garde fusion of electronic jazz math metal.

Check out their MySpace at www.myspace.com/battlestheband

We've just heard their new album and it's bonkers.

Meanwhile we're playing tonight with Stateless at the Brudenell. Come if you can.

Some cool posters...

...that promoters have done for some of our next gigs.

What a MAD week!

So Thursday we laid down the bass and drums for the three new tracks at Pravda. That went really well thanks to the genius of Andy at the studio. On Friday Tim and I cracked on with the guitars at Tim's house. Again, all sounding rather hot.

BUT on Sunday I found out that I'd burst an ear drum (due to the volume of the recording or from the flu I don't know!?!). Arrgghh!

I'm pretty deaf at the moment. Fingers crossed it'll heal in time for the gig with Stateless on Thursday.

Anyway, Tim's still in the process of mixing the tracks and is pretty close to a finish. We should have something to show for our efforts in the next few weeks. Bear with us.

It's been a strange one.

Recording...

...is knackering.

Sounding good though. We'll tell you more when we have more energy.
